New Delhi, Do not ignore if your nails start to break suddenly. This can be a sign of serious illness. It is important to know the reason for this in time. Proper diet and regular care can prevent nail breakage and prevent diseases. Beauty expert Shahnaz Hussain is telling about the home remedies of nail care which increase the health and beauty of nails.

Why do the nails break?

Apart from work, we also use our hands in conversation, but if the hands are not beautiful, then the confidence decreases. Many people find that their hands are very dry and their nails seem to crack randomly. This is not normal. Very dry hands and nails are a sign that everything in the body is not normal.

Dry and brittle nails can be a sign of thyroid.

Cracked, yellow, discolored nails are a sign of infection.

Dark lines under the nails can also be a sign of cancer.

Nails appear blue if the body does not get enough oxygen.

The skin of the hands ages first

Usually, the skin of the hands starts to age faster than the body, but with proper care, the beauty of the hands can be maintained for a long time. Just like the face, hands also need daily care, so do not ignore their health and beauty.

Soap spoils the beauty of hands

When the hands come in contact with soap containing harmful chemicals while bathing, washing clothes or dishes, both the skin and nails of the hands are damaged. This causes them to become rough and brittle.

Take care of broken nails like this. Protect your hands by wearing rubber gloves while washing clothes or dishes. Then massage the cream on the hands, nails and the skin around the nails. Massage your hands with a night cream containing a night moisturizer.

If the nails are very short, mix one tablespoon of almond oil, one tablespoon of sesame oil, one tablespoon of coconut oil. Massage it daily on hands and nails. Apply the oil to each nail and massage the nail and surrounding skin using circular strokes with the thumb.

For dry and black hands, take 2 tablespoons of sunflower oil, 2 tablespoons of lemon juice and 3 tablespoons of granulated sugar. Mix them together until it forms a paste. Apply it on hands and massage. Wash off after 15 minutes. You can do this three times a week. It also strengthens the nails.

Also try these remedies:

Pierce the fresh peel of the orange with a fork. Rub these peels on the nails to make them shiny.

Pour a cup of warm milk in a bowl. Soak hands in it for five minutes to make nails strong and skin soft.

Avoid using very hot water to soak your hands, this can increase the dryness of the skin and nails of the hands.

Enhance the beauty of your hands with home manicure

Nails can be made healthy by doing manicure once a week. For a home manicure, first remove the old nail polish. Use nail clippers to cut nails. Then shape them with an emery board. File in one direction only. After adding a few drops of shampoo, soak your hands in warm water for 5 minutes. Use a soft brush to clean the nails. Now wash your hands. Then apply the cream and massage the skin of the nails and hands.

Cleansing of cuticles

Gently push back the cuticles using a cotton bud. Keep them soft and smooth, otherwise they will stick to the nail and stretch as the nail grows. Avoid cutting cuticles or cleaning nails with sharp instruments. Use a cotton bud to clean under the nails. Then apply 3 long, smooth strokes of nail varnish from bottom to top. Two coats of nail color will be needed for an even finish.

Caring for yellow nails

Constant application of nail polish causes the nails to turn yellow. Exposure to sunlight and some traces of pastel colors also make the nails look yellow. To get rid of the yellow tint that appears on the nails, scrape the surface of the nails with the fine grain side of the emery board, so as not to damage the nails. Then apply UV-resistant or transparent nail polish for protection.

Take special care of diet

If your nails are breaking, include adequate amounts of protein, iron and calcium in your regular diet. Take milk, curd, paneer, fish and sprouts.
