In an exciting move to expand its global reach, NASA has announced a partnership with Netflix to bring NASA+, its official streaming service, to the platform starting this summer. Viewers around the world will soon be able to watch rocket launches, astronaut spacewalks, real-time mission updates, and breathtaking live footage from the International Space Station—directly on Netflix.
Rebecca Sirmons, general manager of NASA+ at NASA Headquarters in Washington, called the collaboration a step toward deeper public engagement. “The National Aeronautics and Space Act of 1958 calls on us to share our story of space exploration with the broadest possible audience,” she said. “Together, we’re committed to a Golden Age of Innovation and Exploration—right from the comfort of a couch or a phone screen.”
Expanding Access to Space
With Netflix’s massive user base of over 700 million globally, NASA is tapping into one of the world’s largest digital audiences to share its missions, discoveries, and innovations. The collaboration aligns with the agency’s broader communication goals—to reach as many people as possible through live content, social media, video, and audio programming.
From countdowns at launchpads to serene views of Earth from orbit, NASA+ on Netflix will allow more people than ever to witness space exploration as it unfolds.
Free Streaming Still Available
Despite joining Netflix, NASA+ will continue to be free and ad-free through the NASA app and its official website. This ensures that anyone, regardless of location or budget, can access educational and inspiring space content without barriers.
With future Mars missions, lunar exploration, and satellite launches ahead, this partnership sets the stage for a new era of space storytelling—one that connects humanity with the universe in real time.
